Former Premier League striker Dudley Junior Campbell has signed for Maidenhead United.
Earlier this month, articles - such as this one - were published which revealed that, following unfounded allegations of match-fixing, Campbell had considered quitting football.
Some would now argue that he has!
Clearly, he should get himself a better agent! ;-) #injoke
It was Coxy who actually broke the news to me this evening, shouting across the Pond House to read out a tweet. Funnily enough, at the time, I was working my way through Ground Hopper's column in this week's edition of the Advertiser -
"The difference between us and the likes of Havant and Ebbsfleet is that they can go out and get players from Grimsby and Bournemouth; and players who have 150 league games behind them. That's the reality of football."
Diddums.
'Poor little Maidenhead' just can't compete ... except when we're signing an ex QPR and Blackburn Rovers striker with 230+ league games behind him!
I'm reminded of the time, back in December 2011, when Drax said the following ...
"I've got some boys here that I love but we have to get the budget back down to where it should be ... We just can't compete financially so we have to try and see what we've already got ... So we look in the reserves and in the youth team. We have to try and unearth another gem."

:-D
The reality of football?
Behave.
In football - as in life - it's often a case of not what you know, but who you know.
